Success is always about doing; about the work.

I like to exercise. Be it a morning run with my dog or an hour in the gym, I enjoy starting my day with physical exercise.

But when I’m lying in bed in that dreamy, just barely awake state, the thought of stepping out into a chilly, dark morning to run or push iron around is enormously unappealing. Lying under a cozy comforter, I just don’t feel like getting up and getting at it.

What I’ve learned is that feelings are false and that action rules.

The deal is this; start the action, and the feeling will follow.

I never feel like running until I’m running. I never feel like lifting until I’m lifting. I never feel like cold calling until I’m cold calling.

It may be doing your budget, your taxes, or cleaning your garage. Motion has magic in it.
