What do you see for yourself in the year ahead? Could you create a theme for the year?

Are you growing, learning, slowing down, speeding up, getting healthy, getting rich, volunteering, busting out, or hunkering down?  

My darling cousin Steve put me onto the idea of creating a motto many years ago, and it stuck. I start in early December with a list of several possible catchphrases, and then I kick them around with Steve, my family, and in my head until I feel settled. I affix my new motto to my email signature and let it lead me through the year.

I am a big believer in intention and the law of attraction. My motto is just that; my intention. This year I expanded my coaching practice. My 2020 motto, “Find the treasure buried in every chest,” drove that change.

Next year I will still be in coaching mode and looking to help as many people as possible. I also intend (with the help of the vaccines) to shrug off the blanket of malaise that was 2020 and step into a brighter, lighter year. My motto will reflect those intentions. It will remind me and lead me toward those intentions daily, as I see it in my email signature with every message I send.
