#1058 The Quality of your Life is Dependent on the Quality of your Relationships

There is nothing more important than relationships - NOTHING.

“But Frank, what about health?

Isn’t health more important than relationships?”

In blue zones, where people routinely live to 100 years and more, science says that relationships are a more significant contributing factor to their longevity than diet, exercise, or heredity.

Miserable, miserly millionaires are almost proverb and smiling; dead-broke newlyweds eating a dinner of peanut butter sandwiches is an easy image to conjure.

Like it or not, in business, it is the quality of your relationships more than your work that will advance your career.

In charity work, the people you know – the people you can tap for resources - are far more impactful than your website, latest marketing campaign, or walkathon.

When I coach young people in business, I am emphatic about this. You know how old folks say, “If I knew then, what I know now”? This is one of those things they wished they knew.

Relationships matter more than anything else in your life. To be clear, it is not a quantity game but rather one of quality.

You may want a field of sunflowers or just a few healthy plants. Either way, taking the time to nurture whatever you have matters.

Like a garden, without care, relationships will wither and die.

Picture me now coming through the page, holding you by both shoulders and looking directly into your eyes with earnestness and intensity as I tell you, “The most important thing you will ever learn is to nurture your relationships.”

That is the intensity with which I want to deliver this blog post.
