#929 Che va con lo zoppo imarare zoppocare

This is an old Italian expression meant to express the idea that "Birds of a feather flock together." It means, If you walk with someone who limps, you learn to falter."

Dr. Rob Gilbert, a sports psychology professor, says this to his students, "Show me the GPAs of the three people you hang around with most. I will average them and be within .1 of your GPA."

When I was a kid and hung around with someone my mom disapproved of, she'd say, "Show me your company and I'll tell you who you are. " The bible backs all this up by saying, "Beware; evil companions corrupt good morals."

The bottom line is this., if you lay down with dogs you’re gonna get fleas.

Fortunately, the opposite is true.

Intentionally spending time with great people will elevate you.

Napoleon Hill wrote the venerable classic self-help book, Think and Grow Rich. In it, he described Mastermind Groups, a practice of very successful people who intentionally met to further one another's aims.

Mastermind groups are comprised of people from different companies and different disciplines who want to share best practices and spitball ideas with other achievers looking to up their game as well. I participate in a few MM groups and facilitate some others. The information, advice, stimulation, and empathy shared, translate into significant gains in my business and personal life.

I have a new MM group forming now. If you're interested in being a part of it, hit reply, and we'll set up a time to go over the details and answer questions.
