#1047 Great People Will Make You Feel Great Too

Early in my life, I spent too much time with people who not only wouldn’t elevate my game but would hold me down. They were always loads of fun with their badass attitudes and tough-guy stances.

They were irreverent and cool, and I hoped some of it would rub off on me.

The problem was that the view from my 5-foot-four-inch frame was short at best. It took a lot of growth (physically and emotionally) to see that leaning on the wrong people would leave me on the ground.

What I have found over time and the best advice I can give you is to seek out great people.

Great people will make you feel that you can be great too.

When I was a teenager, my Mom had an expression that drove me nuts. Anytime Mom saw me hanging with undesirables (the cool kids), Mom would say, “Show me your company, and I’ll tell you who you are.”

How right she was!

As I grew and began to study personal development earnestly, I found that the best part of my learning was by osmosis. I sought out quality people and formed my own mastermind groups. I sidled up to anyone I could find who was successful and friendly. I invited those people to breakfasts and dinners and charity events. I wanted to learn all I could from these high-quality people, and guess what? THEY WANTED TO SHARE THEIR SECRETS OF SUCCESS WITH ME.

Remember: Great people will make you feel like you can be great too.
