#1147 Be Specific about what you Wish for

Psychiatrist Anna Lembke says that every time we enumerate something, we increase the risk of addiction.

"Likes" are counted for you.  I guess Zuckerberg studies the same things Anna Lembke does.

Tracking slights is another one.  Even if you don't keep a proper ledger, counting them mentally will have you looking for more.  And, as we all know, the Universe will help us find what we seek.

I have two exercise accountability partners: Mike every day and Steve monthly.

·       Counting workouts lead to more workouts.

·       Counting meditation minutes leads to more meditation minutes.

·       Counting blessings leads to more blessings.

I understand Dr. Lembke's assertion about addiction. It is another way of saying that my focus is my future.

Remember that old expression, "Be careful what you wish for?" I'd rather say, "Be specific about what you wish for, write it down, share it with a friend, count your progress, and get more of it."
